Thrive Resilience

Finally. A Science-Based Resilience Training That Will Help You and Your Team Navigate Life’s Setbacks and Thrive

Research has shown that people with high resilience are more capable of navigating life’s obstacles and challenges in a healthy way, growing stronger and more adaptable with every setback

Research shows that high personal resilience can have many wellbeing benefits, including lower stress levels, enhanced autonomy, and more vitality.

The best part, according to research, is that it’s learnable.

So if resilience is a fundamental asset in our journey through life, why aren’t we all training this personal strength as much as possible?

The reason is that resilience isn’t a single skill that we can target. To cultivate the mindsets, behaviours, and qualities of a resilient person, we need to better understand the processes and elements behind it.

My programme Thrive Resilience is designed to walk you through everything you need to fully understand this cultivable trait and become the most resilient version of yourself that you can be.

In this training, you will benefit from:

■ One deep-dive into a specific element of resilience per session

■ Information and practice integrated with research and evidence

■ Practical interventions, exercises, and strategies that will teach you to respond to adversity and obstacles with resilience

■ An exploration of resilience in the context of your personal life, including your emotions, thoughts, challenges, and learned behaviours

Understanding the foundation of the psychological processes that underpin resilience

■ A detailed handbook with worksheets and homework

■ A community of fellow participants

■ The ability to ask me anything

This programme is perfect for you if:

  • You are a leader looking for a unique approach to grow your or your team’s resilience

■ You want to cope more successfully with obstacles and setbacks as they arise, ultimately facing tough situations with more confidence.

■ You want to learn, adapt, and grow from inevitable hardships, emerging stronger and more capable as a result of your experience.

■ You’re looking for effective ways to deal with stressors and maintain a sense of control in your life, but you’re not sure how to start or progress meaningfully.

■ You want to know the nuts and bolts behind resilience and develop your own in a science-based way.

About Your Trainer

I’m Jo Hall. I’ve got three decades of experience in delivering coaching, mentoring, consultancy, project management and relationship management solutions to service providers of all shapes and sizes. From designing and implementing culture change programmes to working with leadership teams to improve their employees’ resilience and wellbeing, I’ve worked on many complex projects and created countless partnerships, pathways, and policies for my clients along the way that have enabled meaningful change.

I’ve spent a lot of time working with NHS Trusts and charitable organisations. These are typically challenging environments where personal advancement and resilience is a necessity, not an option. I’ve had my own personal setbacks to deal with, too, including redundancy and a breast cancer diagnosis. So, I understand how tricky life can be at times, and I can very much relate to my clients’ struggles on a personal level, whether they are related to their performance at work or have been brought about by difficult circumstances at home.

Working on my resilience throughout my career has been non-negotiable, feeling like an imposter, doubting myself and carrying an unhelpful chip on my shoulder hasn’t helped things!

I stand firm in the belief that we can develop the understanding of the key elements of resilience and learn how to use the skills and strategies we need to live a confident life and thrive.

What people are saying

“Resilience is that ineffable quality that allows some people to be knocked down by life and come back stronger than ever. Rather than letting failure overcome them and drain their resolve, they find a way to rise from the ashes...Even after a misfortune, resilient people are blessed with such an outlook that they are able to change course and soldier on.” ― Matt Dale, APS Psychologist & Director of Incorporate Psychology

“I can tell you now five years on what I already knew from the research, that you can rise up from adversity, that there are strategies that work, that it is utterly possible to make yourself think and act in certain ways that help you navigate tough times. There is a monumental body of research on how to do this stuff. ” — Lucy Hone, Ph.D., adjunct senior fellow, TEDx speaker, author of Resilient Grieving: Finding Strength and Embracing Life After a Loss that Changes Everything and TED Talk: 3 Secrets of Resilient People

“Resilience is fundamentally underpinned by the concept that it is not so much the hard times we face that determine our success or failure as the way in which we respond to those hard times.” ― Rachel Jackson and Chris Watkin, developers of The Resilience Inventory

How much time do I need to complete the homework exercises? What will that look like?

Each session typically includes one to three homework activities that you can complete at your own pace. Two examples of assignments include a values exploration exercise and keeping a thought diary.

I’ve tried apps and short courses before to build my resilience, and I didn’t have very much success. How do I know that this programme will be different?

The strategies, resources, and qualities that help us cope, adapt, and thrive are essentially personal. For example, we all experience different emotions in response to stress or trauma and employ unique coping strategies for dealing with obstacles. Unlike many apps and courses, Thrive Resilience goes beyond generic techniques to approach resilience from an evidence-based perspective.  Each week, you’ll explore and apply the science and skills in the context of your own life so that what you learn is not just theoretical but genuinely applicable to your personal circumstances and challenges.

Are the resources in Thrive Resilience based on scientific evidence?

Yes. Countless peer-reviewed research studies have validated the benefits of resilience, and we have made sure that everything in this program is underpinned by rigorous science and references.

How does Thrive Resilience differ from the Thrive Programme?

The Thrive programme is more focussed on building the foundations of wellbeing and personal development. Using the PERMAH model as architecture to underpin it’s content. Thrive and Thrive Resilience complement each other and of course our resilience affects our sense of wellbeing and vice versa.  If you are not sure what programme is right for you, then get in touch and we can talk it through.
